Power Stations In Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has about 90 power plants with a generating capacity of 84.34155 gigawatts. Saudi Arabia is one of the largest oil-producing countries in the world. As a result, its power stations heavily rely on fossil fuels, particularly oil and natural gas, to generate electricity. One such power station is the Shoaiba Power Plant on the Red Sea coast near Jeddah. The power plant has a total capacity of 5,600 megawatts and consists of six oil-fired steam turbines, which produce electricity by burning crude oil. Saudi Arabia has invested heavily in building new power stations, upgrading existing ones, and diversifying its energy mix to include renewable sources such as solar and wind power.
