Iran has about 107 power plants with a generating capacity of 61.3621 gigawatts. Iran has many energy resources, including oil, gas, and renewables. Due to its geographic location and economic needs, Iran has invested heavily in developing its power generation infrastructure, with numerous power stations spread across the country. The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant is located in the country's southwestern part. The plant was built with the help of Russia and became operational in 2011. It has a capacity of 1,000 megawatts and is the first nuclear power plant in the Middle East.
